Tip No. 39
Q.I have been offered a job by company X but I'm most interested in going to work for company Y. I interviewed with both companies last week. I'd like to see if I can get an offer from company Y. What can I do?
A. Call company Y and explain that you have been offered a position, but that they (Y) are your first choice. Let them know that if the interest is mutual you would prefer to join their team. If company Y wants you, they will make an offer. This most be done in a sincere and honest manner. Do not make it appear as though you are "shopping offers."
