Tip No. 154
Q. My wife is going back to school to get a degree in International Health. Are there many jobs in this field or would it be better to seek another degree goal? A. Your wife has chosen an excellent field of study! According to a recent report in Newsweek, one of the growing fields for job expansion is Health Care. As the baby boomers age, there will be an increasing need for people who specialize in all forms of health care. I see no reason why that trend should not apply internationally, as our world gets smaller and we all tend to think more globally. She should be able to find many types of opportunities in her chosen area of study. As far as whether your wife should pursue a different degree, her best chance for career success and satisfaction is to follow her passion. It would do her no good to pursue a degree in an occupational area in which she has no interest, as she would eventually become bored with or burned out on the work. I would say that as long as the field of study interests her, she has chosen well.
Best of luck to your wife as she pursues her new degree!
