Tip No. 217- I have been unemployed for 6 months now and am confident I possess good personal skills that would be attractive to potential employers. However, on every application form I fill out there is always a section asking “Please account for any gaps in employment”. I'm not sure how to explain being 6 months out of work as during this time I was suffering from depression and needed a break but am sure if I say that it will put potential employers off. Is honesty the best way or should I just say I decided to take a break?

Tip No. 216- I am doing an assignment of Redeployment (inplacement) strategies in retrenchment. I read your web page and was wondering if you could direct me to any books or research articles that would outline redeployment strategies within an organization or business.

Tip No. 215- I have an interview with Prudential next week. The problem I have is they want 10 years of employment history. I have worked as a Bookkeeper since July of 2002. I have not had another steady job since 1998 when I was terminated for personal reasons. I was unemployed for a year and a half after that. How can I explain the gap during my interview.
