Career Management International (CMI) has partnered with AT&T to provide unlimited phone cards as an integral part of CMI's career transition services. Over 700 separated employees from the Dow Chemical Company in the Houston and Lake Jackson area are using CMI's career center as "home base" for their networking and job search activities. The AT&T phone cards allow CMI clients to fax their resumes and make long distance phone calls at no charge for the duration of their job search.
CMI's executive vice president, Richard Silvano, is a member of AT&T's Southern United States Customer Council which was formed to develop working partnerships and to mutually share business advice with AT&T customers. The Council comprises 10 representatives from the Southern Region and Silvano says, "CMI has been able to use the technology provided by AT&T to add a new dimension to the benefits we provide for our customers during their search for new employment. It has simplified what previously had been a difficult logistic and billing problem. CMI's clients can now make their business calls from any phone, which has expedited the entire interviewing process. Also, CMI's telephone record keeping has been reduced significantly which allows more time to offer our clients."
