Career Management International (CMI) has been selected by HoustonWorks to provide specialized Rapid Response career transition services to Marshall Field employees in Houston, Texas. Almost 600 employees from the two Houston stores are faced with finding new jobs as a result of the store closings.
CMI's seminars on Resume Writing, Stress Management, Financial Management and Job Market Information began on December 2, 1996. The courses are scheduled to run through December 20th and are being held at both the Galleria Mall and Town and Country store locations. Funding has been provided through HoustonWorks by the Texas Workforce Commission and workshops are available to Marshall Field employees affected by the closings at no charge.
Peter Linden, Director of Marketing for Career Management International says, "CMI is excited at the prospect of helping these workers in their efforts towards reemployment. We are privileged to be working again with HoustonWorks as we did last year when we provided similar services during the closure of the Houston Post.
