(CMI) are rallying behind the charity Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) through their participation in the Shell Houston Open fundraiser "Birdies for Charity." The Shell Houston Open will be held April 21-27 in Houston at the renowned Redstone Golf Club. Promoted by the Houston Golf Association, the tournament benefits local charities, and ranks No. 2 on the PGA Tour in charitable contributions.   Tina D. DeFiore, Director of Corporate Programs at CMI, is organizing fundraising efforts for CAP, a non-profit organization founded in 1972 that shelters, rescues and finds homes for homeless animals. The CAP motto is "helping and speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves." Tina said, "CMI has always been active in the community and now we have added CAP to our list of charities because of their dedication to making a difference in the lives of both the animal and people populations of Houston."   CMI employees have adopted pets from CAP in the past and speak highly of the adoptive experience and the time they've shared with their animal family members. CMI Career Counselor Melany Barlow stated, "I am so grateful to CAP for saving my cat Ruth and bringing her into my life! It is wonderful to be able to give back now to support CAP's efforts.
