What do you want to be when you grow up?
For Immediate Release
March 15, 2000
Career Management International will provide free career assessments and job matching for visitors to the Association for Quality and Participation conference in Orlando on March 27-29, 2000. AQP is in its 22nd year of operation and sets the human resources industry standard for quality practice conferences. CMI has been asked to assist conference organizers to provide this extraordinary service to those who are merely curious about their current "career fit" as well as for those people who are unsure of their career future. A special area of the exhibit hall has been set aside for the Career Steer project so that visitors will be able to access the service quickly and easily.
CMI will utilize its' proprietary electronic career assessment and job matching tool, the Career Alignment ProfileÆ, which is currently in use in a number of corporations, universities and government sponsored job enrichment programs. The CAP takes about fifteen minutes to complete and provides individuals with a list of their top strengths, which are represented by colored action words. Each person can then compare their unique strength colors to their current job duties in order to determine which activities are the best fit and which do not best utilize their strengths. Additionally, CMI's software can connect users directly to job postings on the world wide web, where any job opening on the web can be "colored". This allows users to compare their strengths to requirements for an almost unlimited number of jobs in thousands of locations.
Susan Silvano, President of CMI, says "it is an honor to be associated with AQP and the keynote speakers for this conference, Ken Blanchard and Patch Adams. We are very excited about giving visitors a glimpse of 'what they ought to be when they grow up'. We have been counseling and helping people with their careers for almost a quarter of a century and applaud AQP's innovative approach - it's certainly a great way to begin the new millennium!"
